CMAT Entrance Exam

Applicants must sit the Central Management Aptitude Test (CMAT). The paper has 100 objective questions across four sections: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness (25 questions each). A minimum of 40% is required to qualify for interview.

The TU BITM syllabus covers 126 credit hours across 8 semesters. Year 1: Foundation of IT, C Programming, Digital Logic, Java, Discrete Structure. Year 2: Web Technology, Database Management, Networking, Operating Systems. Year 3: Software Design, Python, AI, Cybersecurity, Business Information Systems. Year 4: E-Commerce, Business Intelligence, Digital Economy, IT Entrepreneurship, Internship, and two elective courses.

BITM (Bachelor of Information Technology Management) is the updated name for what was previously called BIM (Bachelor of Information Management) under Tribhuvan University. The curriculum has been updated to include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing. The affiliation (TU Faculty of Management), admission process (CMAT), and degree structure (4 years, 8 semesters) remain the same.

Candidates must have completed 10+2 from any TU-recognised institution with a minimum CGPA of 1.80 or second division marks. Students from any faculty — Management, Science, or Humanities — can apply. All candidates must sit the CMAT entrance exam and score a minimum of 40% to qualify for interview.

BITM graduates can pursue roles as Software Developer, Systems Analyst, Database Administrator, IT Consultant, Project Manager, Cybersecurity Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Specialist, and IT Entrepreneur. The combination of IT and Management makes BITM graduates uniquely suited for roles that bridge technology and business.
